The Catholic religious order, Salesians of Don Bosco, based in New Rochelle, New York, continue to cover-up a claim of childhood clergy sexual abuse against a pedophile priest, Fr. Richard Mataconis, (deceased), who was a credibly accused serial sexual abuser.
Fr. Richard Mataconis has been accused by David Pickett of clergy sexual abuse at the Salesian religious order’s property in Ipswich, MA, also known as Camp Salesian, and where the Salesians also trained teenage boys to become Salesians at Sacred Heart Juniorate on the same property.
The facilities are no longer in operation, but the Salesians at headquarters in New Rochelle, New York, must validate the claim of David Pickett through a financial settlement.
David Pickett, a minor child at the time, was sexually abused by Fr. Richard Mataconis at approximately 10 years old in an office on the first floor of Sacred Heart Juniorate while attending Camp Salesian in Ipswich, MA in approximately 1976.
Since August of 2019, the Salesians have ignored the claim of David Pickett, and therefore have revictimized him.
The Salesians of St. Philip Province, New Rochelle, New York, are responsible for the clergy sexual abuse of David Pickett by Fr. Richard Mataconis, who was stationed at a number of Salesian parishes and institutions, and allegedly abused minor children in many locations.

A demonstration demanding that the Salesians of Don Bosco validate through a financial settlement a claim of sexual abuse against Fr. Richard Mataconis who sexually abused a child, David Pickett, at Camp Salesian in Ipswich, MA, who wants his name known publicly in order to expose Fr. Mataconis and possibly help other victims of Fr. Mataconis. David Pickett is willing to speak publicly by telephone.
