Four (4) men who once attended Arlington Catholic High School, Arlington, MA, have joined two (2) other men who claim that they were sexually abused as minor children by a former Arlington Catholic High School Vice Principal, Stephen Biagioni, and the number of victims is growing. Both lawsuits name former high-ranking officials of the Archdiocese of Boston as supervisors of Arlington Catholic High School and the former Vice Principal; namely, Richard Joseph Malone, former Secretary of Education, Vicar General (2nd in command), and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston; and, William Murphy, former Vicar General (2nd in command) and Moderator of the Curia (Board of Directors) of the Archdiocese of Boston.
At a later date, Richard Joseph Malone became the Bishop of Portland, Maine, and Buffalo, New York, and William Murphy became the Bishop of Rockville Centre, New York.
